Paintings at Carolina Creations by North Carolina Artist T Rader

T Rader, aka Tim Hergenrader , is a native Nebraskan who found it increasingly difficult to paint seascapes from the Great Plains, so, he quit his "regular" job, packed up his belongings and moved to New Bern.

After more than 14 years' service as Public Information Officer for the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency, Tim Hergenrader put down his red pencil on March 31, 2004 and stepped into retirement.

A graduate of the University of Nebraska, he is primarily self-taught, although he has taken art classes at several community colleges.

Tim works exclusively in oils, because, he says, "I like the smell and feel of them."

He is particularly fond of birds and began his career painting waterfowl.
