| Read the story "A Christmas Carol" on life sized storyboards in 20 Downtown Windows starting Thanksgiving! |
You're invited to our annual Christmas Open House on Friday, November 28 from 10 am to 8 pm and Saturday, November 29 from 10-6 pm.
We'll have refreshments, and unveil our "original Christmas Tree" which is a tree hung with original paintings and etchings that retail for $60 and less. Our Handcrafted Ornament and Nativity Show continues.
You'll be able to read the story "A Christmas Carol" in the Downtown store windows on 6 foot tall storyboards painted by me, Jan Francoeur, and Carol Tokarski from the Arts Council 24 hours a day.
The shops having open houses on Friday and Saturday are Carolina Creations, Four C's, Mitchell Hardware, The Next Chapter Bookstore, Juliette's Boutique, Nauti Paws Boutique & Bakery. The Pepsi Store, Accidental Artist, One World Shoppe-Life is Good, SnapDragon, BoatHouse, Green, The Galley Stores, Bear Essentials, Craven Arts Council and Gallery.
Each Friday from Thanksgiving until Christmas starting on the 28th over a dozen shops will be open until 8 pm. Our luminaries are from 5-8 pm on Middle, Pollock, South Front and Craven Street. There will be A Dickens of a Christmas Trolley Tour ($10) from 5-8 pm on Friday evenings as well.
Each Friday evening has a theme, the 28th is Fezziwig's Party. Fezziwig was Scrooges employer when he was a young man.
We hope you'll join us on these Friday evenings for a relaxed, fun, shopping, strolling and dining experience.
