Stephen Moore Montorno Steps
Acrylic on acid free canvas board, image size 20 inches x 16 inches, framed.
Montorno is the home of of Alessandro and Francesco Poli, transformed into an art school by their generosity and the beauty of the surrounding mountain area. Located in Seravezza, Italy, this fabulous art experience was the idea of Danni Dawson, an art instructor and figurative painter residing in Mclean, Virginia.
The experience includes eight days of two plus plein air paintings per day, the weather permitting, at Montorno, Pietra Santo, Seravezza, Pruno and other locales. Lunch and supper are prepared country farm fresh by Francesca daily while you are visiting and painting.
The painting is of the flowers in their front yard. If you are wondering where the steps go, the yard is terraced and on a mountainside. The steps lead to the next level down. There you will find a vegetable garden, olive trees, and fig trees. All are lining the path that winds down the mountainside.
