Stephen Moore Hog Island Horses
Original painting by North Carolina Artist Stephen Moore. Acrylic on Canvas image16 inches x 20 inches x standard 3/4 inch, framed. This painting was done to celebrate the horses of the outerbanks.
I live across from Carrot Island in Beaufort, NC. I see the horses of Carrot Island almost daily, grazing in salt water amid the sharp oyster shells, mud, and abrasive marsh grasses. They endure the harsh heat, hurricanes, storms, gales, and make it look easy. And how do they get fresh water? I don't know the answers but they are beautiful to watch.
